Kite Flying @ Sengkang
Entrance fee: Free of charge
Where: At the intersection of Anchorvale Link and Sengkang East
Way
Tel: None.
Bring: Parking coupons.
What's in our bag: Kite, soccer ball, drinking water. If you don't
feel like packing your own picnic basket, you may purchase it at
a convenience store (7-Eleven) nearby.

Our take on this place:
Good sporting activity for the family, and kids (maybe adults too)
can learn how to really fly a kite (That's right! Running and pulling
it along to get it to fly doesn't count!).
No entrance fees, as this is an open field amidst some HDB blocks
in the Sengkang residential district.
Bring your own kite, although there are folks selling them (though
I'm not sure if they're there every day), so you may be able to
purchase one on the spot.
Ice cream! Yes, there are a few mobile ice-cream sellers parked
alongside the field.
Breathtaking view
of the skyline as you see the humongous kites dotting the horizon.
Awesome photo opportunities.
Few trees (except for the ones lining the perimeter) for your kites
to get stuck into, unlike East Coast Park where you'd probably spend
half the time trying to free your kite out of some tree.
Ample parking (in the URA parking lots) across this field. We do
not recommend parking alongside this field, as you may earn yourself
a parking ticket.
There is also a 7-Eleven convenience
store right across the road (short 30-second crossing to the
other side of the road), so you won't have to pack your picnic basket.
This is actually located right in front of the Anchorvale
Community Club, where there's a great swimming pool we like.
Try to get there earlier in the evening at about 5pm. We felt the
strong winds started to lose speed after 6pm, and the larger and
more
impressive kites weren't lifted up as high.
