Dr Seng Shay Way's Profile

Dr Seng Shay Way is an obstetrician, gynaecologist and reproductive specialist who has been committed to the health care of women for over 12 years. Dr Seng received his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He pursued his internship and subsequently obstetrics and gynaecology training at various hospitals, including the Department of General Surgery at Tan Tock Seng Hospital as well as the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department and the IVF centre of Kandang Kerbau Hospital for Women and Children; before being admitted to the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in London.

He further completed his sub-speciality training under the HMDP scholarship by the Ministry of Health Singapore in the Centre for Reproductive Medicine and Fertility at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield (UK). He is a Ministry of Health (Singapore) certified reproductive specialist with expertise and knowledge from over 10 years experience in teaching and in the treatment of reproductive disorders and infertility. He is the first Singaporean to be awarded a Masters in Reproductive Medicine from the University of New South Wales, Sydney (Australia). He is also registered with the general medical council (GMC) of United Kingdom.

Dr Seng believes that it is essential to remain at the top of his field by function of constant medical education and self-enrichment with knowledge. He has undergone extensive training in gynaecological surgery including abdominal, laparoscopic with emphasis on fertility treatment and preservation. He has also amassed a wealth of experience in clinical and surgical obstetrics, including antenatal ultrasound, natural childbirth, as well as forceps, vacuum and caesarean deliveries. Dr Seng shares this knowledge on a regular basis with fellow specialists and the public through presentations and speeches he has conducted at various medical conferences.

Dr Seng continues to be heavily involved in both undergraduate and post-graduate teaching and he is also a member of several prestigious medical societies (professional affiliations). Notwithstanding his professional involvements, Dr Seng manages to find time to contribute his expertise in various ways, such as through medical journals and healthcare portals, among others. Dr Seng's main research interests are in Polycystic Ovaries syndrome (PCOS), Recurrent Miscarriages and the use of Antagonist in IVF cycles.
